Adrenal Fatigue at GUTS presents Systems Research Group’s ongoing investigation into power, maintenance, technological mediation, and ecological degradation. Operating through the fiction of a research institute, the collective constructs speculative scenarios in which burnout becomes a systemic condition rather than an individual diagnosis. By undoing the gallery’s characteristic curtain arrangement—opening walls and stretching the fabric across the windows—the installation adopts the operational aesthetic of a low-budget office or co-working space. The exhibition imagines a world running on depleted infrastructures, where continuous maintenance, environmental collapse, and technological dependence converge into a single state of exhaustion.
