Turn Around For Here is an exhibition by Discoteca Flaming Star that unfolds as a sequence of perceptual situations rather than discrete artworks. A poem hidden in the elevator shaft, fluorescent tubes fitted with colored Lee filters, and projections documenting experiments with light transform GUTS into an environment in which color, language, and movement continually shift the viewer’s attention. Rooted in Discoteca Flaming Star’s long-standing engagement with expanded cinema and collective forms of authorship, the exhibition treats film not as a fixed object but as an event that is activated through its surroundings.

The exhibition opened with the complete spatial staging in place, while its performative dimension unfolded a week later during the finissage. At its center is A Second Attempt for a Violent Silent Movie Without Camera, a silent film that was reactivated through a live sonorization by Discoteca Flaming Star. By pairing the same film with different soundtracks, the performance proposed multiple readings of a single sequence, understanding meaning as something produced through repetition, variation, and collective experience.
Bringing together cinematic references, poetry, performance, and experiments with colored light, Turn Around For Here explores how perception is shaped by atmosphere. Rather than presenting autonomous objects, Discoteca Flaming Star composes an open score in which visitors, film, light, and sound become active participants in the work.
